the short version: real brat generator does not want your data and does not take it. everything below is just detail.

what we do not collect

Your text, your images, your settings: none of it reaches us. There are no accounts and no signup. We could not sell or leak what you make here if we tried, because we never hold it. Three Google services are involved, each covered below: Google Analytics, which counts visits; Google AdSense, which shows the ads; and Google Forms, which runs the contact form.

what happens in your browser

The brat generator draws your image on an HTML5 canvas, entirely on your device. Typing, previewing, and downloading all happen locally. Nothing you type is transmitted to this site.

One feature touches a URL: copy link. When you click it, your current settings (text, colors, style, size) are encoded into the page address and copied to your clipboard, so you can send a design to someone. That happens only when you click, we do not log the result, and the link contains nothing except what you chose to put in it.

hosting

The site is served from Cloudflare's network. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare may keep standard server logs (things like IP address and user agent) under its own privacy policies. That logging belongs to Cloudflare, not us, and we add nothing on top of it.

analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used in aggregate: which pages get visits, roughly where visitors are in the world (country or city level, worked out by Google from the connection), what device and browser they use, and which site or search sent them here. That is how we know which generators people actually use and which pages need work.

• Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on this domain (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. They hold a random identifier, not your name or email.
• What it does not see: anything you type into the generator, or the image you make. Those stay on your device, as described above.
• We see the reports, not individual people. We do not combine analytics data with anything else, and we have no session recording or heatmaps.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, install Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies or running a tracker blocker also stops it, and the generator keeps working either way.

advertising and cookies

This site is free, and advertising is what pays for it. We use Google AdSense to show those ads, so here is exactly what that means.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
• Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.
• These cookies are set by Google and its partners, not by us. We do not receive, read, or store what is in them, and nothing you type into the generator is available to them: your text never leaves your browser in the first place.

You can turn personalized advertising off at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Google's own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com. Your browser's cookie settings and any tracker blocker you already run also work here; the generator itself keeps working with all of it blocked, because it needs none of it.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or a region with similar rules, Google presents a consent choice before personalized ads are served, and your answer is honoured by the ad system rather than by us.

the contact form

The contact page embeds a Google Form. It loads only on that page, and only when you scroll to it. Because it comes from Google, it can set its own cookies inside that box, the same as visiting a Google Form anywhere else.

Whatever you type into the form goes to Google and then to us. That is the one place on this site where something you type does leave your browser, and it happens only if you fill it in and press submit. We read those messages and reply from the email address on the contact page. If you would rather not involve Google at all, email us directly instead; the address is on the same page and reaches exactly the same inbox.

children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone, of any age.

your rights

Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data only bite when someone holds that data. The only thing we hold is what you chose to send us: a contact form submission or an email. Ask us to delete it and we will, from both the form responses and the inbox. Nothing about your use of the generator is held anywhere, because none of it is ever collected. For analytics and advertising cookies, the controls are the opt-out links in those sections, plus your browser.

changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves with it.
